I don’t know if I mentioned this last year, it being the crazy year that it was, but my Husband did a Biggest Looser contest at work and lost 80 pounds, Yes 80 pounds he lost a bit more than a baby Mermaid! I lost 35 and am only about 5 pounds off my High school weight! so we thought it was time for new family pictures! so here they are!

Curly hair with a felt flower headband

I Put baby Mermeamids hair into curlers for her hair today,

I pulled out all of the curlers exept for the ones in the front

Then I put in the headband with the curlers still in the front of her hair (so I didn’t get the front curls hooked into the headband (that is elastic)

After I got the headband in I pulled out the rest of the curlers and pined the curls back behind her headband to hold it in

and your done!

Braid and braid and braid…and braid?

Sorry I don’t have step by steps for this one but I love how it turned out! we just braided one side of her hair in three sections, as you can see in the second picture,

Then we “Dutch” French braided her hair from one side down the other side to in one braid, across her head, pulling the braids into the braid as we came to each section

and your done! off to School Little Princess!

here is the link where I got this Idea, yea, if you look back to last year, you can see my opinion of the book, its not that I hate the book, its just well, in my opinion not really step by step and some of the hairdos turn out kinda weird, for example the bun Mohawk

Start by braiding three braids from one side

Make one of three buns stacked down the back of your head, and hook the braid into the bun

Keep buning and wraping, LOL

Loose worm bun

I have done a lot of Worm/twisted buns in my blog career, but this time a twisted it really loose to make more of a grown up look,

Just taking pieces of hair I twisted it loosley and hooked it with a bobby pin to make sure it stayed,

just keep on going, loosely twisting and pinning

we could have hairsprayed each section to keep it from looking…messy, but that frayed look was kind of what I was going for,

and there bookworm is done!

NAUGHTY BUN

Today for Baby mermaids hair we did a naughty bun, we started with kind of curled hair from the day before! got to love 2 day hair

Next we pulled her hair into a side pony tail keeping her hair as smooth as possible!

Next step was wrapping the hair around the pony tail, and then tucking the end through making a knot.

Now I just keep pulling this center part of the knot through to make a loop

Here it is all pulled through with the ends secured with bobby pins to hold them in place,

just some more random pictures so ya can see it a little bit closer

add a bow and

off ya go!

Romantic Summer Hair day 4

So this kinda looks like a french braid but really its just twists tied in a knot and secured with bobby pins

So you take your pieces of hair from the sides, and twist to the center

put one over the other one, and pull them so they look like this, secure with pins and do again, I think that we did 4 or 5 going down the back of her head at an angle,

more knots

oh, her hair was wavy from french braids the day before,

and that helped with volume, (not like she needs volume) I also curled the ends with my chi

Then we tied hair around the elastic using our awesome little topsy tail!

and your done!

Twisted rope bun

We have really been enjoying this bun! its really easy and looks way time consuming, but really only takes about 5 minutes

2 rope twists

Take one and wrap it up and around the other pinning as you go

wrap it all the way until you have nothing left

then wrap the other one around and tuck the end into the bun, hiding both of your elastics

And your done! voila!

Alice in Wonderland (the play) Flower hairstyle!

We Just finnished our summer workshop of “The Trial of Alice in Wonderland” and Baby Mermaid was a Flower, Daisy I think and here are some pictures of her and a step by step of her hairdo!

I braided her bangs back into two dutch braids pulling only from the front to keep hair out of her eyes and to help hold her headpiece in place for the play

Then I pulled her hair into three pony's two on the bottom and one on the top (a triangle of pony's)

Then I started making messy buns

I wraped the hair around my finger once and left the ends curly and kinda messy

Her is how I pinned them in a X where my finger is

so I did the bottom two messy buns

Then I pulled the braids back and hooked them above the messy buns

then I tuned the top pony into a messy bun

http://www.hairromance.com/p/30-hairstyles-in-30-days.html so I bought this hair book and I must admit I am not a lover, but since I paid money for it and I am tight, I am doing one hair do of the girls choice every Sunday until I have done most of them, the one with the funky swirl on top will NOT be done in my home but….. well here is day 21 on Baby Mermaid!

Here is the picture from the book, We don’t have bangs and I don’t like hair hanging in the girls face, so ours will be a bit more under control

So you start this hairdo with three braids on top of each other, the bottom braid upside down,

Then you curl them up so you have a kind of braid faux hawk down the center of your head

At least it made Baby Mermaid happy!

The pictures are not step by step, just her hair done, and I am a really visual person, I learn by seeing others do it! also I don't love her instructions, if they were with pictures it would be more helpful, we did some cute ones today however and some of her hairdos I REALLY like!

The world has changed forever!

This weekend we were getting ready to make wedding invitations for my brother and his fiancé for the 14th of June! We were so excited to welcome Jacqui and her two adorable children into our lives! As we pulled up to the house, her mom came running around the corner and told us that her sweet little boy Vince had fallen into a river while having visitation with his father in the canyon, and that he was being life flighted to Primary Children’s hospital, Jacqui and her mother jumped into the back of my van and off we sped the hour to the hospital, on the drive up the hospital called and told us that he was in extremely critical condition and was unconscious, As we arrive they rushed Jacqui and her mother away and we waited for them to get him into the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as we called my brother and kept him updated (he is in the Navy and stationed in CA). As we sat and waited for any info on this sweet little man. that just turned 2 last month, we cried with his grandmother and Aunts and uncles and waited for the best to happen! about Midnight Jacqui came running into the waiting room crying that Vince was dying and that she needed her mom with her. The doctors who I have every respect for, then told us that his stomach was bloated and so distended that they could not get enough blood pressure to get blood up to his poor little brain. They told us that they had a surgery that was his only hope, but that no child in the hospital had ever lived through it, they gave us a very small chance even survival but Jacqui signed the papers and they started the surgery. they came in and told us that he made it though, and that his intestines were nice and pink, not the black and gray that they usually find after the surgery, then they told us to go home and get some sleep, and that Jacqui and her Ex-husband could spend the night with Vince, we all left hoping that tomorrow would be a new day and all would be well with Vince.

But on Sunday morning they checked his pupils at about 5:30 am and they were fixed and dilated, Jacqui called us and told us if we wanted to say goodbye that we needed to come up as soon as possible, we jumped back into the car and drove to the hospital, where we waited until about 12:30 when my brothers flight got in, on the way back from the airport they told us that they had done the first test for brain activity and he had not responded to any of the 12 steps, and that they would repeat the test again in 2 hours, as we waited and these young people had to decide about organ donation and, things that no parents should ever have to decide about. The Doctor came in and said that he was going to go administer the test again, as we prayed that some miracle would happen! It had happened yesterday, he had survived the surgery, please just one more were all we are hoping for. But the Lord has his own plans and his own timeline, and Vince was proclaimed brain dead. We then waited in line to go in and say goodbye to his little broken body that was laying in the hospital bed, and his Grandfather, Jacqui’s dad said the most profound thing. He looked at his watch and said. 20 hours, its only been 20 hours.

In 20 hours we had gone from planning a happy wedding celebration, To a Funeral for a little boy that’s life had not even begun to start. all of the family's hopes and dreams for this little boy were gone. and now they had to look forward to nothing…. just

Yes, I am tired of hair! I know can you imagine! but for the day after the wedding I did not want to do hair! but It was Sunday and the girls wanted to be all done up and wear their new dresses to church! so we did this super simple hair do on Baby Mermaid

so this is her hair when she woke up, messy curls that are flat in back,

I pulled her hair up into a pony,

left her braided headband out of the pony for a second,

Then I just put some bobby pins in to make it look more like a full bun,

then I pulled her braided hair up and stuck a bow in her hair! and your done!

This is the hairdo we ended up doing for the wedding, on the Little Princess it is almost like this do but the braids lay on the top of the bun.

This was the winner of the school poll, Like I said it was fancy hair week here at chic-clips! My Brother just set a date for his wedding so it looks as if it will be wedding month again next month LOL!

So for the day of the wedding, my older girls got to have two hairdo’s because they went and did baptisms during the ceremony at the Manti Temple

This was a dry run for wedding hair, and for dace for Book worm,

At this point I didn’t know what I was doing, I just dutch french braided it pulling hair only from the front,

Then I did the same thing on the other side

pulled her hair into a pony and then braided that, (note, the back of her hair never got braided in the french braids!)

then I just looped her hair into a knot

and slid the knot up to her head

tucked in her end with a topsy tail, and bobby pined like crazy

and your done!

When The little princess was looking for pictures of hair for her Aunts wedding she found a picture of Paris Hilton sporting a hair bow, and she wanted to try, this is our first attempted and it was before school, I only have a half an hour scheduled for all three girls hair, so this is what she got

Pulled her hair into a high ponytail

took a section of hair and wrapped it around the elastics holding the loops

wrapped it again and used some bobby pins to hold it in place

and from the front, If I were to do it again, I would make sure that her hair was dry and then ratted and put pomade in it to hold it into place better!

I started her hair with the bangs parted out, and the back in four little ponys across the back of her head.

Wedding Hair part one

So My DH’s Sister is getting married next weekend, and of course my kids get to be involved. which means fancy hair week at Chic-clips! we are testing out hair all week so we can find the perfect do for the Little Princess. I have been going crazy with all the DRAMA! but at least I can occupy myself with the hair!

So we just braided back her bangs

Then I did two rope braids, in her ponytail

then I wrapped the Braids around, and bobby pined them down pulling the twists apart to make the bun look more full

Messy bun with bumpy hair

So, yesterday Baby Mermaid had Dutch braided Pigtails and we were going to wash the bumps out but then we decided to go with this do,

We started this by pulling the hair off the crown of her head and securing it with an elastic,

Here is a second picture to see what hair I pulled back a little bit better

Then I twisted back her bangs and secured it with bobby pins, then I loosely pulled up the back and secured it with bobby pins also!

Then I did a messy bun and Viola your done!

Easy Fairy-tale braid

We hope that you all had a happy Easter! Here are the kids just before church. My great great grandpa emigrated here from Denmark, and he always said that you had to have new clothes on Easter or the Birds would poo on you! so here are my kids in there poo proof clothing!

Little Princess got a fabulous formal from a local Dress shop that was having a grand sale, (I am also a sale Diva)I only paid 15.00 for her dress! but I wanted her hair to be fancy, but not to prom-esk

So I started by Dutch Braiding her hair back, at this point I still didn’t know how it was going to turn out!

Next I pulled the rest of her hair into little pony's and chi-ed the ends

Then I did easy pin curls but I left the ends out so it had funky flyaways (they had been curled)

Hi, everyone I have been missing in action again as we just finished a play, I worked my butt of but we had a great time! Our family lives in the same town as a Krshna Temple, and every year they have a festival of colors, that celebrates spring. We finally had a chance to go this year!

Double Dutch with an extra braid, and some Turkey Tails!

So, I don't have good step by steps, because I really just started out with the plan to do a double Dutch and turkey tails but half way down the first braid I decided to take a braid across, so I just stopped and took out a little piece, and then continued down the braid, then when I got to the other side, I braided halfway down and added the braid, I am sure you can figure it out

Then I just made the turkey tails by looping the braids under, chi’d the ends, and fluffed them out by back combing them a titch.

And your done, do you want some cheese with your Hair?

you got it! LOL

Twisted Rope Bun

Today on Book Worm she wanted her hair up, She has been working on the Lyndi Hop at school in ballroom. And if you click that link you will see why her hair needs to be up LOL

Her hair is so heavy I pulled the back part into a pony tail and then left the front part out,

then I roped back both front sides, and hooked them into the pony tail

Then I put her main pony into a rope, I didn't do it as tight as I usually do, I guess I was just to lazy! oh, if you can tell by the pictures I looped the end of the hair back up and made a little knot end on her pony tail

Next, I looped the rope up above her pony, and , continued around,

untill I had tied it in a realy loose knott

Then I took that little end and hooked it under that loop

I added tonz of bobby pins just to make sure,

then your done!

Hope you like this do, Book Worm has tonz of hair which made for a big thick bun, but I think it would also work good on thin hair or as pigtail buns, it made a super secure bun, and lasted good all day even with that crazy dancing!

New Name!

So My Darling Daughter Too Cool For Hair has requested a new name. When we first started this blog she HATED to have her hair done, but now she loves it! I do her hair more fancy than the Little Princess now.... SO we will call her Book Worm from here on out! I am not going to go back through and re-name her in all my blog entrys we will just start from here!

Fairy tail braid into a pony (easy version)

I didn't do a step by step on this one. I was just making things up as I went. I planed on leaving it long but… Too Cool For Hair wanted it up. So after I did the braid (waterfall fairy tail whatever you would like to call it) I did it the easy way (as previously posted) I pulled it up into a low pony and wrapped all my elastics with hair. It turned out really cute!

The kids were out of school and Baby Mermaid wanted blue hair, I was thinking of a streak here and there. I always use watercolor markers (such as crayola) and it always works so good and I have no problems. however I said sure and I was busy for a second and I would come do it in a second….. My second must of taken to long because she did it herself and needless to say its a little bit more blue than what I was expecting.

so I just French braided a skiny braid in her hair,

Then I took the top section that is above the braid and loose,

I hooked my finger through the braid

and pulled the piece through.

So you end up with a fairytale braid or a waterfall braid with ease!
notice the awesome blue fingers! LOL it was a lot of blue!

Then I grab the chi and curled the blue strands that I had pulled through the braid! It turned out really cute! (and super blue)

Heart Bun for big girls

We ended up doing this cute heart bun on Too Cool For Hair. It was super cute and a very understated heart! I have done a video (which I hate to do) because I wanted to show just how easy this type of bun is! I love it

I started her hair with three pigtails, if you can imagine where you want your heart to go this will help with placement

Then turn all of the hair into pin curl buns using the technique in the video! Thanks Princess for your mad video skills!

Here is her hair all bun-ed and sprayed, I should wait for it to dry before I take pictures but I am always in a hurry before school

I just braided her hair back into princess hair.

Then I flipped the braid forward and took a section of hair from the back, and tied it in the first part of a knot

Then I put the Braid and then tied of the rest of the knot

Here is Too Cool for Hairs braid again, this time we were going to play laser tag and she did not want it in her hair……But we were going with some friends who have a SUPER Cute boy so she wanted to look “fashionable”

So I just pulled all of her hair to the side and did a 4 strand braid. I found a great link on YouTube on how to do it!

Once again its sunday moringing and I am in a hurry to do up some wet hair, I really loved the way this looked but a man in our congragation told too cool for hair that she should fire her hair stylest! so I guess you choose if you want to try it!

We just started her braid up on the side of her head and then I just Dutch Braided all the way around and down off her head so it wrapped around!

Here is the other side, her hair was still kindof wet, I hate to braid wet hair because I think it is harder to get it smooth!

For this hair do I started with my chi and Curled all of The Little Princesses Hair and then I pulled the back into a clip and did two Dutch braids running from ear to ear across her head, one starting on the left the other starting on the right

Here are her braids running across her head easy she just has long braids hanging down the side

Then I pulled the tails down and hooked them under her hair, with an elastic

I must be getting lazy in my old age because here I am doing a day 2 hair do again! LOL this was really easy and step by steps are not really necessary, if you have any questions let me know however!
We started with this hair do for Sunday. however I didn’t love it her hair is still a bit to short, but when she got up Monday for school her hair looked like this!

So we pulled out the pigtails aross the top turned them into 2 pigtails, Chi’d the ends to give them a bit of curl,
and stuck some huge miss matched bows in to hide the mistakes! LOL

and your done!

Sugar and Spice and a pony tail that is nice

A teen in church wore her hair like this on Sunday and I loved it so we tried it out with Baby Mermaid!

So we parted out her hair pulling the front half up and the back into a high pony

Then I took three sections and twisted it and hooked it with an elastic, I wish I had clear but… I haven’t picked them up at the store lately! Then I took the sides and front a twisted/french braided them back and hooked them into the pony tail.

Here is a second picture that shows all my crooked parts! What was I thinking!

Grown up Puffy braid

We are fighting the frizies that come with cold dry Utah air, so that means lots of pulled back hair days, and I loved the way this turned out Its really simple and understated, and we just put in simple ribbons when we were done.

I just parted her hair off center and pulled one side into a low pony, I had already given her hair a little curl on the bottom with my chi

Then I pulled back this top part with one elastic and then pulled that down in a matching low pony on the other side and there ya go, your almost teen out the door with a huge smile ready for the day!

Bun and Tuck

Here is Little Princess, she wanted a bun and I have to admit I didn’t want to do one but this is how it turned out!

I pulled her hair back into a high pony with just the top layer and then pulled it through,

Then I pulled the rest of the hair into a pony and did a pin curl bun, easy as pie

knots into a Hairband

I love to say Hairband, it reminds me of my days in the 80’s with the big rock and roll hair do’s ahhhh back when puffy hair was cool, any how, here is Baby mermaids do for today, this is a second day do, day one we just wore the knots, if you don’t remember how to do the rolled knots the link is provided, I gooped in tonz of pomade and they stayed really well, so day two I just pulled them to kind of tighten them up and then went on from there!

Here she is with here eyes closed of course, I just pulled the ends from the knots and hooked them with an elastic under her hair! More pics of the hair Here you can see her ends hooked under! easy and cute!

Fairytale Braid crown (Easy Version)

Awhile back I posted a fairytale braid That looked really cool but unless you have 3 hands is kinda tricky to do! Well here is the cheat version!

So I just did two Dutch braids down both sides of her head and hooked them in the back with an elastic (notice I pulled up the center section of hair)

Next I took the “Topsy Tail” and pulled little sections of hair through the braid,

Here is one side all done!

I Did a "Hair band" on Too Cool For Hair today! it turned out pretty cute and I fancy-ed it up a tiny bit!

Here you can see the parts where the ropes start, her hair is so dark it is hard to see the ropes,

here you can see the rope, it just hooks with an elastic with the headband hair from the front under her long tresses!

Heart Dutch braid into a pony!

I did this forever ago, (in 2009) but I have kind of mixed it up a bit, I saw a double one posted some where but I think I just prefer the simpleness off one heart braid here is a link to my last post that gives you better step by steps!

So I just did a heart Dutch braid and then put the rest of the hair into a pony tail, easy this would work great for a second day do, day one you could leave the hair in just the braid day 2 pull it into a pony!

Too Cool for Hair had a speech and debate competition this weekend, her first one ever! We decided on Theater hair, not knowing really what judges are looking for, she did a Duo, and got second place (she did a great job but lets admit part of that prize goes to this awesome hairdo)
Here she is from the front, we just Dutch braided her bangs back like this really easy!

And here she is with a bird man, My Brother is on leave from the Navy right now and he taught the kids this game, if you make eye contact when someone gives you the birdman you have to lay down wherever you are. Unless of course you block with the monocle! life is always a crazy time here! LOL

Stacked double knots, and a bonus do to!

On Too Cool for hair we did this wicked cool double knot pony tail, we just made one low pony tied a knot to cover the elastic with a topsy tail and then did one more pony and tied a knot again, she said she had tonz of people at school asking how to do it and she didn’t even know what I had done back there! kind of funny I thought!

sorry I didn’t get step by steps on this one! we were in a hurry in the morning!

and the little princess did her own hair and came up with this I told her I would post it cause I love the hair accessory with this one!

it is just a simple twist with a ostrich feather puff on the side but I love the way it balances each other out!

super easy half bun

We did this before school one morning for Too Cool for Hair. It was super fast and turned out really cute so I thought that I would share! I just pulled the top part of her hair into a pony, and left the bottom long

Then I took the “topsy tail” and put it threw the elastic and pulled a loop of hair threw, leaving a loop (not pulling it all the way threw

Then I kept taking pieces and pulling them threw until I had a pretty full bun, Her hair is wet in these pictures so it looks kind of stringy but it dried more full.

Here she is with the bun done,I added bobby pins to kind of hold it where I wanted it!

and your done! really easy and quick! with a crazy face! LOL

Hike to the “Y”

We hiked as a family up to the “Y” Its a gigantic Y that is on the mountain above BYU in Provo. We heard that it is a little steep but a little was an understatement! Korean Hair Bun, Chic-Clips style!

One of my fellow hair bloggers did this hair do, of course I had to Chic-Clips it and try it! With To Cool For Hair, She has a Ballroom class and a Gym class on the same day at school and has really been enjoying the bun. So here is our version (I would link back to the original blog but I have forgotten who did it so If I stole your hairdo let me know and I will link back to you!)

so to start this hairdo its just straight wet hair easy, part it down the side and take out a section of hair and braid it (just any random section inside the parted side area!

then French braid the hair back braiding around the little braid sorry this picture is not the best!

Then I pulled all the hair except for the little braid back into a pony tail, and braided the non braided hair from the left side

Next I stuck in a chop stick that has been cut down and sharpened with the pencil sharpener, yep I just brought it home from my favorite Chinese restaurant! LOL and then I wrapped each of the braids around the chopstick one going to the right the other one to the left, and secured it with bobby pins!

Then I took the little braid and wrapped it around and hooked it in the bun

A Quickie?

Here is a quick hair do we did on Baby Mermaid. I slept in on a Sunday and needed something fancy in just a minute so this is what we did.

I just braided back the bangs and wrapped the elastic with hair and pulled it threw with my “ponytail tucker” i.e. “Topsy Tail” or as the kids call it the hair puller! LOL

Then I just curled the ends with my CHI and we were off! I didn’t even put bows in!!!!!!!! Is it a first in Chic-Clips History?

Braided Bun

For today’s hair do we did a dutch braid that followed To Cool for Hairs Head around the side, starting in the front middle,

Because her hair is so heavy and thick I put it into a pony at the base of her head and then braided that pony down.

Then we just tied her hair into a knot and secured it with bobby pins, It looked very sophisticated in a understated way and was a hit at church,

We had a hard week again, My cousin who is special needs died suddenly last Friday, He was such a sweet loving person. Eric will truly be missed by all who knew him. He always felt so strongly about doing things that were right and the only times that I saw him upset or angry was when his freedoms were being challenged.
For such a special guy I had to do special hair for the girls, This is what I came up with for Baby Mermaid!

So we did two dutch braids from ear to ear to make a wide headband.

Then we laced a ribbon in between the braids,

Added a black bow,

Sorry, my life has been a whirl wind the last couple of weeks. My cute little Baby Mermaid was diagnosed with Tourettes yesterday, Two weeks ago the doctors warned us that this was coming (90% sure)That really knocked me over and it has taken a little bit to get back on my feet! But Needless to say she is still my little munchkin and I love her, It really has not changed our lives so much. We are still dealing with the tics that we have been dealing with for a year now. The best thing is we now know what the problem is and we can move forward! I just thought that I would let you all know, as I consider you all my friends

Wow DC in a week is not enough!

Our lives have been a whirl wind these last couple of weeks, some good, some bad, but I am sure to feel you in as things become more solid, however when I got home I found that we had taken somewhere close to 800 pictures and I am not going to post them all here so I will give you a quick couple of pictures and tell you all what great kids I have and how thankful I am for the family that we stayed with! D.C. days 3-4

when we made it to Ohio we decided to go to the great lakes, We have never been up there and it looked pretty close on the map so we took our picnic up to lake Erie, It was really windy but we had a great time!

like I said in my last post, please help me with my hair! its getting bigger and bigger! we had a great time splashing in the lake at this cute park, It was in this little Victorian area and so much fun!

now to Pennsylvania, the words that describe are: trees and hills, but I would call it the land of roadwork!

yeah we are almost there! Our Trip to D.C.

As many of you know My family and I have gone on a little trip across the U.S. for our family vacation this year! so I thought that I would try to blog every night so you all could keep up with us so here it is day 4 and my first blog entry... oh well
Day one!
We got a late start today on our drive and so we ended up eating lunch in Evanston WY. it was like... the best! LOL

Here we are in front of the WY sign. I would just like to add that monkey man must have had some kind of mental lapse in judgement because he can not pose for a photo!

I think this is monkey man dead from the fire wagon? When I asked my kids one word that described Wyoming they told me weird rocks. and that about sums it up except for maybe Lincolns Head?

Here we are in front of the Nebraska sign, wow we are moving along quickly now! We stayed in a KOA in Grand Island we got in really late because of our late start! We pulled in after dark and we just planned on throwing out sleeping bags and sleeping under the stars, well, We went up to the door on the office to pick up our map and there were 10000 frogs on the side walk and grass! I about freaked out! wait who am I trying to kid! I totally freaked out, Needless to say my DH pitched the tent and we slept like babies.

Day 2

So day 2 we drove again but I must tell ya I asked my kids to describe each state with one word and the word for Nebraska was Stinky, I agree but would perhaps add Froginfested! Iowa is the next state we passed through and the kids said that one was farms. For some reason I don't have a picture of the sign

So here we are in front of a Danish Windmill. My mom (who is the reason I am hair obsessed) and I really enjoyed this, due to the fact that we have a lot of danish blood in our family.

Here is a swim hairdo and a trip to our reservoir (a lake-ish pond that we swim at once a week, all of our family that live all over is always asking what the Res is so here are some pics!)

so I just did a quick smocking in the front the first row is three pigtails the second row is 4 easy

her hair is so short that I did a puffy braid up the back

and she is ready to swim!

Here are the kiddos on the beach, I use that word loosely as the sand is actually gravel because its quite windy here and when they put down nice sand it blew away! so now its poky gravel!

The secret to our success! the first couple of times we went out we both pumped with hand pumps but now I use the battery powered one and he pumps up the rest with the hand pump it still takes about a half hour to pump it up! LOL

Well I have been really busy this week painting Too Cool For Hairs Room! It turned out really awesome so I thought I would show you the pics!

Well as you can tell zebra print was a theme of this room as well as books,

One wall down three to go!

She had picked out 7 pages of quotes I think we got about 5 pages on, I could NOT paint one more word for the life of me!

yep more zebra it was better than words! (I think)

and tada its done!

She is saving up for a white couch to go in front of this wall! Right now it has The Little Princesses bed

(we are going to work on her room next which is a princess ninja theme! LOL)

The red shelf is a book shelf for her books ad stuff

inside the three frames there will be sheets of metal for magnet boards (I didn't have time to go pick it up yet)

All of her quotes, her bed will go in this corner

Last wall her bed will go there(that's why the quotes end besides the fact that I was tired)

Her desk area ( she has a black chair to go there that's my kitchen chair that I was standing on to paint all week long!)

The kiddos! They were a great help! Too Cool for Hair kept the house running while I was working! painted and traced words, and finished her floor which I think ended up really cool! The little Princess helped by painting (a little) and tracing, And the little ones just sat and played and talked to me all week!

we started with a braid right down the middle, I was not as careful with the parts cause it is only going to last a half hour and then we are going to wash it!

However not fond of Bella I am, I love some of her hair styles, she is really pale like "To Cool for Hair" and has long hair I do like to try some of her hair do's on her! In the Eclipse Movie when they go to practice fighting the baby vampires she has her hair sort of pulled back, this is my version!

I just curled under her hair and straightened it, I think it makes your hair look longer with a curl on the end. Just a personal preference. and then I pulled it back and covered the elastic with a piece of hair and the topsy tail! no big whoop but I liked the way it turned out and it only took a second

For our hair do today, I saw this cute do in a magazine when I took Monkey Man to get his hair cut and I just had to try it! so here goes!

I curled her hair with my flat Iron of awesomeness! I love these loose bouncy curls on the ends!

Then I just ratted out her hair and hooked it with bobby pins, I should have walked up and got our baby bumpit but I was to lazy!

Then I pulled hair from each side crossed it over the bobby pins and hooked it under with a bobby pin

My Dreams come true!

Hi all you out there in hair land. It has been a dream of mine for quite some time to own a chi hair straightener. Well, I found a place in our local classified adds (K.S.L.) for all you locals out there. This girl was selling new chi's in the box for 40.00. I am sure they are off the back of a truck some where but this is how the deal went down. I called this girl, She set up a meeting place. So I go with my kids (and DH) to the back of this Karate studio to wait, I call and pull in and she comes to my car with the chi, I pass her the cash out the window and she gives me my ultra cool straightener! I felt like I should have blind folded my kids or something. I kept joking that it felt like I was buying drugs or something..... anyhow I now have my coolieo tool and I LOVE IT! as you all can tell from most of my pics, my girls have tonz of hair and I have twice that much! I always joke that I am really an amazon bush woman at heart! but this baby cuts threw my hair with ease! Here are some pics as we were getting ready for a fourth of July party!

He was like you curl with a straightener? I was like yes! that's one of the reasons I have been bugging you for this for years!

This one was the show stopper! I don't like all the attention she got when she wore her hair like this but it was very pretty! We put red white and blue hair bling in for the holiday in all the girls hair but It really stands out in hers! and the curls....Need I say more?

So right now I am working on a quick two week workshop with our Youtheatre group, and My two oldest have been teaching, so... To cool for hair requires a up do to keep her hair off her neck! I guess you have a hard time chasing 25 5-8 year olds with a sweaty neck! I did this up do and loved it It was really loose and kinda flowey looking but stayed in well all day! best of both worlds!

So I started by pulling the bottom part of her hair into a pony by doing a twisty type thing (not my specialty)

Next I just started grabbing hair and doing weird things with it (twists ropes braids whatever)

I just hooked them to the pony with an elastic

Hair tragedy part deux

once again hair tragedy has struck my life! Baby Mermaid has decided to donate her hair to Locks of Love, However thrilled I am to have my children give such a selfless gift to little children who really need this gift! I feel so selfish in thinking that I need it to!

Day camp hair

For day camp Baby mermaid said that she wanted braid bun things that are funky. so This is what I came up with. They were not what baby mermaid had in mind but they were a head turner all day at camp. I had so many comments about how cute her hair was! and they stayed in great all day in the wind and dirt threw hikes and skits! it was a great do!

so I separated her hair into three parts from front to back, her bangs part (four braids from ear to ear)separated

Her pigtail part ( pigtails with three braids each pigtail)pigtails

and the bottom part (four braids again from ear to ear) I started with wet hair and lots of pomade to keep the wispys in the braids!

She was getting sick of sitting there! put that shows the pomade that I use!

so I hook the front and back braids into her pigtails by crossing the far ones and pulling the center ones straight up but you could cross all of them or whatever!hook

then I looped all the braids so the elastics were all together! the loops are NOT even I wanted the elastics to be together to help hold the buns in!

then I ratted and flat Ironed the ends to make it funky stuck some bows in

So here is a braided hairdo again its braids and pigtails...... shocking I know!

So I put the hair in pigtails except for the front part which I braids from center to side.

then I wrapped each braid under the pigtail on the side that the braid is located and hooked it into the opposite pigtail with an elastic

Added some bows cause you know that's what I do!

And there ya have it a really easy 10 minute do with just a touch of spice!

So I started this hair do, by parting the front "bang section down the middle and then into four sections,

Then I braided from the front section to the back section, and then made a really long braid that reached all the way around her head

then I laid the long braid under her hair, and started braiding the opposite sections still continuing the really long braid

then I put a clear elastic on the end of the braid (after I had braided all four sections) and secured it with a bobby pin, under some hair

then I pulled her hair into a side pony,

then I just put it in a pin curl bun with the ends kinda funky and sticking out! and your done!

guess what! we were sitting in church and someone (an awesome friend) that knows that we live in a tiny shoe box said that she knew of a home for us that is super cheep, and guess what we got it and are moving! I am so excited! it still has 3 finished bedrooms but 2 more are almost finished (a bedroom for each monkey)! could mom be any more happy! and almost twice the living space! well I am packing and moving but I will send some pics of my new digs when we get moved in next saturday!

K I just thought that I would tell ya all why my comments have become Moderated and ask all you other blogger if you have the same problem!
someone keeps putting porn links in my comments! It is really starting to tick me off! is anyone else having this issue?
