Wavy Curls with my clipless

So for Book worm goes to prom I used my Clipless curling wand (that I love) but it was super cute ringlets today I am doing soft wavy curls with the same curling Iron

So Here is little Princess getting ready for church,

The only difference between the two curls is the amount of hair that I picked up, for ringlets I took about a 1/8th of the amount of hair, for the wavy curls I took a big section

So after we got done curling I sprayed her hair, let it dry and then had her flip it upside down and shake, then when she stood back up it looked like this

Which was the look she was wanting! Yeah a happy teen!

So I pulled back her “bangs” with a tiny french braid and then pulled hair over the top and pinned it to hide the elastic!

Big Beach Curls

Ok, not often do you get to see pictures of my hair, one of the reasons is I had gorgeous smooth long straight hair, that was blow dry ready to go, so I never really learned how to do hair, then, Monkey man came, and I got my hair cut with a razor…I am not sure which did it to me, but when all was said and done I have really full tiny frizzy hair,  so this is my new morning  routine, I am starting with clean blown dry hair, with flat Iron conditioner/balm sprayed on it
So I pulled out my huge 2 inch curling iron, and started curling, After I curled my hair, I wrapped each piece up and pinned it with a Alligator clip
And just keep on going till you have all of your hair curled, then go on with all of your other things to do I did all of the girls hair and then came back to mine

Hairspray liberally after you have it all wrapped

Then when you come back take out your curls and spray again! you end up with big curly relaxed curls that I love for me!

Book Worm goes to the Prom!

Wow, Long time no post! We have been incredibly busy and crazy the last year, the last day of school we found out that we had to be out of our house in 30 days because our landlord was selling our house :0) so we moved into my parents basement, and with the 8 of us sharing one bathroom it left little time to “play with hair” but we are now in a little twin home while we build a house! Yep I am finally getting my dream home! Happy 20 year anniversary to us (it should be done in August). I have also been the Speech and Debate Team mom, and I have been crazy busy with that but super excited to share an incredible Sr. year with book worm! She has qualified for 2 national tournaments (the first person in Utah to qualify for the NIETOC using the bid program) and Little princess had a rocking good freshman year in speech and debate and also made the JV girls Basketball team!

But now that you’ve gotten caught up with us! lets get to the prom!

Of course my Dh had to get a picture of my tongue  hanging out, it just does that for pictures, I don’t know why!

So I just split her hair up into sections to curl, like the glove, I feel like Michael Jackson! to bad its not white and sparklie

My neato glove is blending in to her hair but you can see how big of a piece I am taking in this picture if you look close!

Then you just take the awesome clip-less curling Iron and wrap the hair around it, in a spiral, not on top of the other hair, it takes a bit to get the hang of it,

Now, my Curling Iron is just a Wal-Mart clipless curling Iron I have been coveting the Enzo Milano, but its 120.00 and until I can find it for 30 dollars (like my chi) there is no way I can justify paying that much! This one works really well, its ceramic and heats up to 410 so I make sure I use a heat protectant!

Then this is why you have an awesome glove to hold those little ends to the curling Iron

Next I did a waterfall braid on this side, and then curled the pieces that I pulled through! (remember I do the cheat waterfall braid!) click here for the Video tutorial!

Here she is all done! I must admit it turned out really cute!

Here she is with her cute date, they had a great time, and I used enough hair spray that she slept on it and it still looked cute the next day for church! (and yes that is snow on my lawn! I wish it would get to be spring!

Half a Knot and curls

Little Princess wanted her hair curly and pulled back to show off her new “glasses” so I just did this super easy do..

I just pulled back the bangs, got out the topsy tail and wrapped her elastic with hair,

Then I pulled out the curling Iron (yep I kinda went back to the Iron for this one not the chi) and curled her hair super quick, and your done!

I Put baby Mermeamids hair into curlers for her hair today,

I pulled out all of the curlers exept for the ones in the front

Then I put in the headband with the curlers still in the front of her hair (so I didn’t get the front curls hooked into the headband (that is elastic)

After I got the headband in I pulled out the rest of the curlers and pined the curls back behind her headband to hold it in

and your done!

Grown up twist bangs

 

Here we go with her hair just chi’ed with a curl on the bottom. I did Blowdry her hair and I think it helped with the volume!

 

Next  I just twisted her “bangs” back and hooked them with a bobby pin under her hair

Curlformers again!

Too Cool for Hair had a speech and debate competition this weekend, her first one ever! We decided on Theater hair, not knowing really what judges are looking for, she did a Duo, and got second place (she did a great job but lets admit part of that prize goes to this awesome hairdo)
 Here she is from the front, we just Dutch braided her bangs back like this really easy!

from the back, once again I am wishing I only had the long pink and orange curlers!

And here she is with a bird man, My Brother is on leave from the Navy right now and he taught the kids this game, if you make eye contact when someone gives you the birdman you have to lay down wherever you are. Unless of course you block with the monocle! life is always a crazy time here! LOL
