My first “Real Bun”

 So we started Baby Mermaid out with WET hair   and sectioned off the front part of her hair…Why can you guys get normal pictures of your kids? My kids know these are going on the internet but still…..well keep reading if that hasn't frightened you away!

I usually put the hair into a pony and then use that as a base for my pin curls, however today we were out so I just freeformed this bun, and I loved the controll I had to make it thicker or thinner here is a link to show you how I create these curl buns  Next I took the front part of her hair and split it in half, twisting the back half in 5 pieces back into the bunThen I took the rest of the front and french braided it back into 2 braids… wrapping them around her head above the bun (and pinning with a bobby pin) Then I wrapped the ends of her braid in through the hair… Pinning where needed

And your done!

I Love the briaded buns so here ya go, it’s a basic braided bun, 3 braids wrapped and pinned

Ropes and Braids bun

Todays Hairdo on The Little Princess will be a super quick hairdo that you can do up before school no problem!

First an easy two pony's close to each other in the back, leaving the front “bangs” out

Now Dutch braid the bangs back on both sides and rope braid the ponies!

Wrap one of the ropes around the other one and secure with pins

 

fill in the center with the second rope

Wrap the braids around the bun securing with pins

and your done! I didn’t get a front view! Sad

sideways braid (Kristal this is for you)

So I started with fresh clean dry hair on Baby Mermaid for this one,

Then I did a sideways braid down from the front to right above her ear on the other side

I kept braiding her hair until I just had a little end then I secured it with a rubber band, next I folded up the end of the braid, and secured it with bobby pins, remember this is Baby Mermaid so we hooked bobby pins in every loop of her braid crossing, so its in really tight

Then we took the end and slipped it through the braid with our topsy tail (I could have used my fingers if I didn’t have such a useful tool. Then I just bobby pined the ends back down the bottom, you cant even see them they are under the first braid,

and your done!

More Braids and buns

Baby Mermaid wanted her hair up for church so I decided to try a bunch of pigtails all over the back of her head to see if I could get that “modern Bride” big hugeo bun on the back of my head look, and guess what It worked! So I started by dutch braiding her hair back into two, just to her ears and then finishing off the braid down to the ends,Next I put her hair in 7 random pigtails all over the back of her hair, this really created a nice base for her hair to be pinned to, I like to do all of my pincurl buns on a ponytail base, for my kiddos because I think they stay in better and my kids are pretty active. especially Baby Mermaid with her tourettes, her hair has to be solid.This picture you can see where I hooked her braids just to keep them under the bunThen I started rolling her hair and adding bobby pins to keep it looking full,Just keep going and your done!

Happy Easter and a do to!

We hope that you all had a happy Easter! Here are the kids just before church. My great great grandpa emigrated here from Denmark, and he always said that you had to have new clothes on Easter or the Birds would poo on you! so here are my kids in there poo proof clothing!

Little Princess got a fabulous formal from a local Dress shop that was having a grand sale, (I am also a sale Diva)I only paid 15.00 for her dress! but I wanted her hair to be fancy, but not to prom-esk

So I started by Dutch Braiding her hair back, at this point I still didn’t know how it was going to turn out!

Next I pulled the rest of her hair into little pony's and chi-ed the ends

Then I did easy pin curls but I left the ends out so it had funky flyaways (they had been curled)
